Location
Merida is the capital city of the state of Yucatan. It is located in the northwest part of the península, about 50 km south of the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
If you're flying to Merida, opting for a taxi from the airport is advisable. Be prepared to wait patiently for one, as Ubers aren't permitted to pick up passengers at the airport.
Merida stands as the perfect global destination and it´s considered the city with the best quality of life in Mexico, and the safest.
It offers an unparalleled experience with a rich cultural heritage, which is reflected in its old traditions and rich gastronomy.

How to get to Merida

✅️Passport valid for at least 6 months
✅️Mexican visa only for certain countries https://www.inm.gob.mx/gobmx/word/index.php/paises-requieren-visa-para-mexico/ (USA and Canada Entry visa are also valid in Mexico)
Upon arrival, you will need to complete a Multiple Digital Migration Form (FMMd). This form will be provided to you by the airline or at the port of entry.
Make sure to keep the FMMd with you unless you get it as a stamp on your passport. You will be asked for this at your departure from Mexico.
✅️International medical insurance, although not compulsory, is always recommended when travelling abroad.
Buying a SIM card in Mexico
Although many hotels and resorts provide complimentary Wifi for guests, not all cafes, restaurants, and bars do. The Hacienda Venue won´t have wifi for all the attendees.
Buying a SIM card at a convenience store, like OXXO, phone shop, or airport is quick and easy, and you don't need to bring your ID or a bunch of paperwork to a designated phone store. Phone companies options are Telcel, OXXO, Movistar and AT&T.
You can also think about buying an E-sim card from Mexico. Airalo and Holafly are two excellent companies that offer reasonable-priced Mexico E-sims.

There is a wide range of hotels and Airbnb to accommodate diverse needs in Merida City.
Please book your room asap because it will be high season.

Travel advice
Merida's climate is hot and humid, the average temperature in December is 23 °C (73 °F). There is a low probability of rainfall by the end of the year.
Prepare light clothing, comfortable shoes, hat or cap. We recommend the use of sunscreen and that you carry water with you at all times to stay well hydrated.
We suggest you rent a car, move around by Uber and/or buy the event transport ticket when its ready. The only general advice would be to avoid traveling long distances by night.

Tourism, Cultural Heritage and Natural Wonders
Merida is known for its safe and secure environment, friendliness and hospitality of the people.
There are several archaeological sites closer than 120 kilometers, many museums, and historical landmarks.
There are natural reserves, stunning beaches and cenotes (natural waterholes) nearby, which are a byproduct of a meteor crash in nearby Chicxulub. This event is considered a possible cause of a massive extintion which included dinosaurs.
